Installing the iOS app
Get SiteLedger on an iPhone, sign in, and understand how it behaves offline and with location.
What the app is for
The iOS app is the field half of SiteLedger: clock in, scan receipts, and file daily logs. The office half — job costing, approvals, payroll, and reports — lives in the web app. Most owners keep both, and most crew only ever need the phone.
There is no Android app yet. Android users can open the web app in any browser and clock in from there.
Install it
- Open the App Store on the iPhone.
- Search for SiteLedger, or use the App Store link on the SiteLedger download page.
- Tap Get and let it install.
The app is free on the App Store and needs iOS 14.0 or later. The whole app is available in English and Espanol, so your crew can use it in their own language.
- Open the app and sign in with the email address the invite went to.
- Owners who created their account with Apple or Google can sign in the same way here.
- Once signed in, a worker sees the jobs they are assigned to.
If a worker says a job is missing, they have not been assigned to it. Assign them from the job in the web app and it shows up on their phone.
Working with no signal
The app works with no cell signal. Crews can clock in, scan receipts, and write daily logs offline. Everything queues on the phone and syncs the moment they are back in range, so nobody has to remember what happened at the end of the week.
Location and permissions
Clocking in uses location so the punch is tied to the job site address you set on the job. SiteLedger only asks for location while the app is in use — never in the background.
- Ask crew to allow location when the app prompts, so hours are tied to a verified site.
- The site address on the job is what the clock-in is checked against.
- The camera permission is what receipt scanning uses.
