Exporting your data

Download your jobs, receipts, and timesheets as CSV files from Settings.

What you can export

  • Jobs: every job with budget, status, and dates
  • Receipts: all expenses with vendor, amount, and job
  • Timesheets: every shift with hours, worker, and job
  • Everything: jobs, receipts, and timesheets in one download

All four come out as CSV. There is no PDF or spreadsheet-format option, and no way to limit an export to a date range before it downloads.

How to export

  1. Click Settings in the sidebar.
  2. Open Export Data.
  3. Click Export CSV next to the records you want.
  4. The file downloads to the device you are working on.

The Export button in the top bar of the dashboard, the reports page, and the payroll page all lead to this same screen. If an export fails you get a message on the page, and clicking the button again is safe.

What happens to the file

  • Files download straight to the device you clicked from
  • No data is sent to a third party during the export
  • The CSVs open in Excel, Numbers, and QuickBooks import

A downloaded CSV is a copy that lives outside SiteLedger, with your customer names, worker names, and pay rates in it. Keep it somewhere you would be comfortable keeping a payroll printout.

Payroll and your accountant

The timesheet export is the payroll-ready file. It carries hours, worker, and job per shift, which is what a payroll provider or a bookkeeper needs to run a pay period.

There is no direct two-way sync with QuickBooks or ADP today. You export a CSV and import it on their side. Direct sync is on the roadmap, so tell us if it would change your decision.

When to take a copy

  • At year end, for your accountant
  • Before a job closes, so the record survives independently
  • Any time you want a backup outside the app

You can export everything at any time, and your data stays accessible for 30 days after a cancellation so you have room to pull it down.
