Profit by job report

One table showing contract value, labor, materials, and margin for every job you run.

Opening the report

  1. Sign in to the web app as the owner.
  2. Go to /reports.
  3. Wait for the totals to load, then read down the Job profitability table.

Reports are owner-only. A worker signed in to their own account cannot open this page, and will not see margins, budgets, or anyone else’s pay.

The four figures at the top

  • Contract value: every job added together, with the job count underneath
  • Labor cost: every timesheet costed at its rate, with total hours logged underneath
  • Materials: every receipt assigned to a job, with the receipt count underneath
  • Overall margin: contract value minus total spend, as a share of contract value

Underneath the margin percentage sits your projected profit in dollars: total contract value minus total spend. If that figure looks high, remember it is the profit left across all jobs at once, including work you have barely started.

Reading the table

The table runs one row per job, sorted by contract value with the biggest job first. The columns are Job, Contract, Labor, Materials, and Margin. Click any row to open that job and see the shifts and receipts behind the numbers.

  • Margin under 15 percent shows red
  • Margin from 15 up to 25 percent shows amber
  • Margin of 25 percent and above shows green

When a cell shows a dash

A dash in the Contract, Labor, or Materials column means the figure is zero. Nothing has been posted there yet. A dash in the Margin column means SiteLedger cannot work a margin out, which happens when the job has no contract value or no cost booked against it.

If the whole page says there is nothing to report, no jobs exist on the account yet. The report builds itself from jobs, hours, and receipts, so add a job first.

Taking it with you

The Export CSV button in the top bar takes you to the Export Data page, where you can download jobs, receipts, and timesheets as CSV files. The report table itself is a screen, not a download, so the CSVs are what you send to your accountant.
