Switching between English and Español

Set your language on the web and on iOS, and see what does and does not get translated.

Switching on the web

  1. Click Settings, then Appearance. Workers open Appearance from their own profile screen.
  2. Under Language, click English or Español.
  3. The page reloads so every screen picks up the new wording.

The choice is saved in that browser. If you sign in from a different computer, set it again there.

Switching on iOS

The whole app is available in English and Español on web and on iOS. The iOS app keeps its own language setting, so changing it on the web does not change it on the phone. Open the settings in the app and choose the language there.

It is the same on a phone and a tablet. Set it once per device and it stays set until somebody changes it.

Each person picks their own. Your foreman can run the app in Español while the office runs it in English — same jobs, same hours, same numbers.

What gets translated

  • Navigation and screen headings
  • Buttons, form labels, and filters
  • Status messages and errors

Anything you typed stays exactly as you typed it. Job names, worker names, notes, categories you wrote, and document titles are your words, so they are left alone in both languages.

Dates and money keep the same values in both languages. A shift of 8.5 hours reads as 8.5 hours either way, so an owner and a worker looking at the same entry are always looking at the same number.

The first time you sign in

If nobody has picked a language yet, SiteLedger follows the language your browser is set to and falls back to English. Choosing one under Appearance overrides that from then on, on that device.

If a crew member says the app came up in the wrong language, walk them to Appearance and have them pick. It takes about five seconds and it sticks.

Language and theme are separate settings on the same screen. Changing one does not change the other.
