Working offline
What the app can do with no signal, and how the work syncs once you are back in range.
What works with no signal
Coverage on a job site is not a given. Basements, steel buildings, and rural lots all kill a signal. The app keeps working anyway.
- Clock in and clock out
- Scan receipts
- Write daily logs
You do not have to know whether you have a signal before you do any of it. The app behaves the same either way, so nobody on the crew has to think about it.
How the queue works
Anything you capture without a connection is held on the phone. The moment you are back in range it syncs on its own. There is no button to press and nothing to type in a second time.
For most crews that means the day syncs on the drive home, or when they pull into the yard. A receipt scanned in a basement at ten in the morning is in the office by lunch, filed against the job.
Keep the app installed and stay signed in. Signing out or deleting the app before a sync means the queued work has nowhere to go.
Before you drive out
- Open the app once while you still have signal.
- Check you are still signed in.
- Leave location permission on so clock-ins can be verified against the site.
Thirty seconds in the yard saves an argument at the end of the week. New job assignments and new site addresses reach the phone when it has a connection, so give it one before you head somewhere that has none.
Once you are back in range
- Hours land in the timesheet queue for approval
- Receipts appear with their scanned fields filled in
- Daily logs appear under Documents on the job
A punch recorded with location off or outside the site radius is not geofence-verified. Your foreman may need to approve it by hand.
If something has not shown up
Check that airplane mode is off and that you actually have bars, then open the app and leave it open for a moment. If a receipt or a shift still has not appeared for someone in the office, message support before you re-enter it — entering it twice creates a duplicate.
A shift you can see on your own phone has not necessarily reached the office yet. If your foreman says an entry is missing, check that the phone has had a real connection since you recorded it.
